![]() If using the cork gaskets simply spray the cork gasket with 3M adhesive spray.let it get tacky. Install either a Fel-Pro rubber 1 piece oil pan gasket, or install the regular 4 pc. Drain oil, unbolt idler arm, inner tie rod and let steering components drop out of way. The oil pan front seal is the least amount of work.in my opinion. Remove the seal, clean the timing cover of all old gasket material, install new gasket on cover, install new seal, install new front oil pan seal, apply RTV and reassemble everything. If it is the timing cover gasket you will have to do the above except instead of pulling the seal, you need to drop the oil pan.at least the front part. Install new seal, lightly lubricate inner lip of the seal, reinstall all above components. ![]() Then pop out the seal, clean timing cover to seal area well. so I don't know if anything from that will be in the way. ![]() If it is the front crank seal you will need to remove the accessory belts, fan, waterpump, vibration dampner. Is it the crank seal, or is it the timing cover, or is it the front oil pan-timing cover seal? Clean the area well to verify where the oil is coming from. ![]() How hard is it to replace? What steps do I need to do? What do I need to buy for the repair?įirst let me say hello from a fellow Minnesotan, and to say sorry for the long post. I have an oil leak and it looks like it is coming from the front main seal.
